Stephen Fry in America
HDNet is proud to present the debut of Stephen Fry in America, a six-part documentary series airing every Tuesday at 10:00pm ET, beginning September 22. Fry, a British actor, comedian, writer, author, television presenter and film director adds traveler to his resume with this series. Fry drives a London cab through each of the fifty United States, visiting its landmarks and distinctive sites, looking at its unique and quaint customs, talking to its citizens, and discovering the true nature of the fifty individual parts that make up the whole. In each episode, follow Fry as he makes his way across the country, starting in New England and moving through the South, along the Mississippi, through the Rockies and western states concluding with him gazing into the Pacific. The series, at times hilarious, intriguing, disturbing and enlightening, navigates the topography of our people and landscape. Born in 1957 Fry is known as half of the comedy duo Fry and Laurie, also starring Actor Hugh Laurie. Fry has also played the lead in the film Wilde and is probably best known to U.S. audiences for his recurring role as Dr. Gordon Wyatt on the Fox television series “Bones.” Fry has also written numerous articles for newspapers and magazines, four novels and an autobiography, “Moab Is My Washpot.” He also authors a blog at www.stephenfry.com.
