He's an eight-time Pro-Bowler, Sports Illustrated's Sportsman of the Year, and he was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2000. Dwight Clark won two Super Bowls with the 49ers, went to two Pro Bowls, and has his number retired in San Francisco. Clark and Montana famously connected for a touchdown in the 1982 playoffs against the Dallas Cowboys, a play so well known it is referred to as "The Catch".

Originally drafted by the Red Sox right out of high school, Teixeira opted to go to Georgia Tech where his batting average was .427. Drafted in 2001, Teixeira only lasted a season in the minor leagues, joining the Texas Rangers in the spring of 2003.
Tom Glavine

Synopsis: A 9-time All-Star, 2-time Cy Young Award winner and World Series MVP, Tom Glavine is virtually a lock for Baseball's Hall of Fame. A gifted high school athlete, Glavine was drafted by the Los Angeles Kings and the Atlanta Braves in 1984. Choosing to play baseball, he started his career compiling a 33-43 record. However, in 1991 Glavine notched a 20-win season and won his first Cy Young Award. He had two more 20-or-more-win seasons with the Braves and made them annual contenders in the NL East. In 2003 Glavine signed a 42.5 million dollar deal with the New York Mets, he is currently zeroing in on his 300th win.
Albert Pujols and Jim Edmonds

Synopsis: St. Louis Cardinals first baseman, Albert Pujols is positioning himself for an automatic entry into Cooperstown. He is the first player in Major League history to hit 30 or more home runs in his first five seasons. He also became the first Major League player since Ted Williams to knock in at least a 100 RBIs in his first five seasons. Pujols was named Rookie of the Year in 2001, National League MVP in 2005 and has 4 All Star appearances. Pujols' teammate Jim Edmonds is the second guest on this show. Edmonds started his Major League career with the Angles, since 2000 he has provided stable leadership for the Cardinals in St. Louis. Known as an erratic hitter Edmonds is better known for his dramatic and acrobatic catches in center field. He has eight Gold Glove awards and over 1000 RBIs.
Carlos Delgado

Starting his pro-career with the Toronto Blue Jays, Delgado also played for the Florida Marlins before landing with the Mets in 2005. In Delgado's hometown of Aguadilla, Puerto Rico he is well known for bringing toys to hospitalized children on Three Kings Day. Delgado also started his own non-profit organization, "Extra Bases" to help youth in Puerto Rico.
Pedro Martinez

Synopsis: Three-time Cy Young award winner and current Met, Pedro Martinez is considered one of the top pitchers in baseball history. Martinez started his career with the LA Dodgers as a relief pitcher. In 1994 he was traded to the Montreal Expos where he won his first Cy Young award in 1997. That same year he was traded to the Boston Red Sox where he finished 23-4 with a 2.07 ERA and 313 strikeouts, earning his second Cy Young award. In 2000 Martinez was awarded his third Cy Young by posting a 1.74 ERA, the AL's lowest since 1978.
Antonio Gates, Shawne Merriman

Synopsis: Antonio Gates attended Kent State and was a power forward with aspirations of playing in the NBA. After being told he was not NBA material, Gates set up a workout in front of a number of NFL scouts. He had not played organized football since his senior year in high school. Drafted by the San Diego Chargers, Gates became a standout tight end earning two Pro Bowl appearances in his relatively short NFL career. Gates' teammate, Shawne Merriman joins Firestone for the second half of the show. As a standout defensive end and outside linebacker for the Maryland Terrapins, Merriman was the 12th pick in the 2005 draft. During the Chargers 2005 campaign Merriman had 67 tackles and 10 sacks. He was also named the NFL rookie of the week and the AFC defensive player of the week during the 2005 season.

Paul Lo Duca

Before New York, Lo Duca played professional ball in LA with the Dodgers and Florida with the Marlins. His 25-game hitting streak with the Dodgers in 2003 is the second longest in Dodgers history.
Tony La Russa

After a stint with the Chicago White Sox, La Russa led the Oakland Athletics to three consecutive World Series from 1988 to 1990. La Russa's team swept the San Francisco Giants in 1989, the A's then lost to the Dodgers and the Red in '89 and '90. Since 1995, La Russa has been the skipper of the St. Louis Cardinals where they've won six NL Central Division times.
Carson Palmer, Ben Roethlisberger

Synopsis: Roy Firestone sits down with two of most intriguing stories of the year in the NFL. In 2005 Carson Palmer led the Cincinnati Bengals to an 11-5 record and the AFC North division title. He became the first Bengals quarterback to finish with a 100+ passer rating and threw a league leading 32 touchdown passes. During the second play of the 2005 Wild Card game against the Pittsburgh Steelers, Carson Palmer was sacked and tore his ACL and his MCL. He was carted off the field and the Bengals eventually went on to lose to the Steelers. In the second half of this show Firestone sits down with the quarterback of that Steelers team, Ben Roethlisberger. "Big Ben" and the Steelers went on to win the 2005 Super Bowl making him the youngest quarterback to ever win the game. During the off-season, Roethlisberger was involved in a motorcycle accident in downtown Pittsburgh. Rushed to the hospital, Roethlisberger suffered various facial fractures including a broken upper and lower jaw and a broken nose.

In 2006, Wade led the Miami Heat to the NBA Championship over the Dallas Mavericks earning the Finals MVP trophy in the process. In the second half of the show Firestone sits down with former Colorado Buffalo and current Detroit Piston, Chauncey Billups. He was named the Finals MVP in 2004 when the Pistons beat the Los Angeles Lakers. In 2006, Billups was named to the All-Star team.
Jerry Colangelo

Synopsis: Jerry Colangelo has been with the Phoenix Suns organization since 1968. Over the years he's been the general manager, head coach, president, chairman and CEO of the Suns. Colangelo is an instrumental figure in the Phoenix area; along with leading the Suns to the fourth-best-all-time winning percentage, he secured the move of the Winnipeg Jets to Phoenix becoming the Phoenix Coyotes. Colangelo was also involved in bringing the Diamondbacks to the Phoenix area in 1998. The Diamondbacks won the 2001 World Series over the New York Yankees, becoming the fastest expansion team in Major League Baseball history to qualify for the post season.

In each of his first five seasons Tomlinson has gained over 1,000 yards, he's been elected to the Pro Bowl twice and he is the 7th player in NFL history to run, catch and throw a touchdown in the same game.
Herman Edwards and Trent Green

Synopsis: As a player, Herman Edwards appeared in 135 consecutive games with the Philadelphia Eagles. He also played for the Los Angeles Rams and the Atlanta Falcons. Edwards was an assistant coach at San Diego State as well as a defensive backs coach with the Kansas City Chiefs and an assistant head coach in Tampa Bay before he became the Jets' Head Coach in 2001. In January of 2006, Edwards became the Head Coach of the Kansas City Chiefs, replacing the retiring Dick Vermeil. Trent Green was the Quarterback at Indiana University and was selected in the eighth round of the 1993 NFL draft by the San Diego Chargers. The next five years found Green as a constant backup quarterback, he even spent time in the Canadian Football league. In 1998, Green found a starting position with the Washington Redskins; he was then traded to the St. Louis Rams. In 1999, Green suffered a season ending injury. That year the Rams, led by backup Kurt Warner won Super Bowl XXXIV. In 2001, Green went to Kansas City and has started every game for the Chiefs.
Mike Schmidt and Paul O'Neill

In his 17 years with the Philadelphia Phillies, Schmidt was known as a power hitter leading the league in home runs for eight different seasons. Schmidt is also one of only 15 players in the history of game who've hit four home runs in one game. In the second half of the show Firestone sits down with Paul O'Neill, nicked named "The Ultimate Warrior" by George Steinbrenner. O'Neill has been a member of five world championship teams once with the Cincinnati Reds in 1990 and with the Yankees in '96, '98, '99 and 2000. He is also the only player in Major League history to play on the winning side of three perfect games.
Steve Young

Graduating from BYU in 1985, Young spent the beginning of his career with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, traded in 1987 to the 49ers Young apprenticed under Hall of Fame quarterback Joe Montana. Young reached mythic proportions during the 1994 season, achieving his record setting 112.8 passing rating and 35 touchdowns. He threw a record six touchdowns in Super Bowl XXIX and rushed for a game leading 49 yards.
Shaun Alexander

Synopsis: Shaun Alexander is the 2005 NFL MVP, he has four Pro-Bowl appearances, and the Alabama career rushing record with 3,565. During the off-season, Alexander signed an 8-year deal with the Seattle Seahawks securing his place as a marquee franchise running back. Alexander is one of only four running backs in the history of the game to record consecutive seasons with 20 or more touchdowns. In 2002 against the Minnesota Vikings Alexander scored five touchdowns in the first half, which is still an NFL record.
Bill Walsh and George Seifert

Synopsis: Bill Walsh led the San Francisco 49ers to three Super Bowl victories in the 1980's. He was inducted in to the NFL Hall of Fame in 1993. Walsh is responsible for drafting NFL greats Joe Montana, Jerry Rice, and Ronny Lot. After his stint with the 49ers Walsh went on to coach at Stanford in 1992 until 1994, he is currently the Interim Athletic Director at Stanford. George Seifert served under Bill Walsh until 1989 when he took the reigns as head coach for the 49ers. Seifert won Super Bowls in 1989 and 1994. Mike Shanahan, Ray Rhodes and Pete Carroll all worked and coached under Seifert.

Lawrence Taylor

Chris Webber

Reggie Jackson

Mike Eruzione, Bode Miller

Synopsis: Mike Eruzione was captain of the 1980 Winter Olympics United States Hockey team that upset the Soviet Union. Eruzione scored the goal that put the United States past the Soviets and was also a contributing factor as the US blasted past Finland to win the gold. In the second half of the show Firestone sits down with Bode Miller. Miller's two Silver Medals in the 2002 Olympics were a surprise to many and a feat that propelled him onto the world's stage. Leading up to the 2006 Olympics, Miller was a fixture for both broadcasters and advertisers. However, his inability to reach the podium in his five events in addition to his laid-back attitude led many to question his "Olympic Spirit."
